Purpose Design+Build is a design and project management studio in Chicago. We believe your space should feel like you, and that the process of getting there should feel safe, clear, and creatively alive.

It started in a pandemic, in Michigan, at a family sawmill. Steve's wife project-managed their Chicago home renovation, and the communication was painful. He saw the gap: homeowners deserved a design and build partner who actually listened. Purpose Design+Build launched in Spring 2024.

We're not the cheapest and we're not the biggest. We're the ones who show up, listen, design with intention, and make sure the end result is exactly what you envisioned. We leave a branded tag inside your cabinet when we're done. Proof that someone gave a damn.
